This leadership position offers the opportunity to serve as Director of Pharmacy at a hospital specializing in critical illness recovery and post-ICU care. Situated in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this role involves full-spectrum pharmacy management, including clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial responsibilities. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure high-quality pharmaceutical services and regulatory compliance in an environment dedicated to extended patient healing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accurate preparation and dispensing of medications across pharmacy operations
- Ensure full compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards
- Manage the Adverse Drug Reaction Program and participate in quality assurance initiatives
- Develop and lead employee training and education programs
- Monitor patient drug therapies collaboratively
- Establish at least one new clinical program annually, such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing or Pain Management Services
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement
- Educate and counsel patients and their families on medication use
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Oklahoma Pharmacist License in good standing (or willingness to obtain promptly)
- Minimum three years hospital pharmacy experience within the past five years (required)
- BLS certification as mandated by state regulations
- PharmD or BS Pharm with advanced degree or completed hospital pharmacy residency preferred
- Minimum one year in pharmacy management or leadership preferred
- Board Certification and residency completion highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS compliance standards
- Comfortable reporting directly to CEO and engaging with clinical leadership
