Oversee pharmacy operations at a behavioral health hospital setting as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge. This contract role requires leadership, management, and strong communication skills to maintain an efficient pharmacy department that supports psychiatric care.
Location:
- Based in New Lenox, IL, with proximity to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- On-call coverage seven days a week
- Weekends covered by part-time pharmacy staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and team meetings
- Maintain pharmacy operations and compliance with hospital policies
- Communicate updates regularly through emails and monthly one-on-one meetings with the account manager
- Provide leadership support to part-time pharmacist and technician staff
- Participate in onsite training and onboarding
- Ensure smooth use of pharmacy automation, including Omnicell systems, with training available if needed
- Support the psychiatric specialty focus of the facility
- No sterile compounding duties required
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Illinois Pharmacist license required
- Minimum of 3 years in pharmacy management, preferably in a hospital setting
- Experience with or willingness to learn order entry systems and Omnicell automation preferred
- Strong communication skills and basic financial knowledge essential
- Background in psychiatric or behavioral health pharmacy is a plus

- Small pharmacy team with one part-time pharmacist and one technician
- Technician support for Omnicell restocking
