A leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Director in Tulsa, OK, offering a direct hire position with a standard 8-hour day shift schedule.
This role focuses on overseeing hospital pharmacy operations in alignment with policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. The Pharmacy Director will lead and mentor clinical pharmacists and support staff, ensuring compliance with JCAHO, DEA, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations, while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and supervise hospital pharmacy activities to meet regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacy team members, medical staff, and ancillary departments.
- Ensure department adherence to safety, security, infection control, and disaster preparedness.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and fiscal objectives.
- Manage recruitment, training, evaluation, and retention of pharmacy personnel.
- Maintain and review department policies and procedures regularly.
- Promote multidisciplinary teamwork to enhance patient care and department efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.
- Minimum of three years of hospital pharmacy experience.
- At least two years of leadership experience.
- Active and valid pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Ability to meet applicable state requirements, including sterile compounding.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire. Preferred qualifications include:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
- Five or more years of hospital pharmacy experience.
- Advanced certifications such as ALS or ACLS if responding to Code Blue situations.
