A community health system in Western New York is seeking a skilled Director of Pharmacy to lead their pharmacy operations. This direct hire role offers the chance to manage a close-knit pharmacy team within a county-owned health system anchored by a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital and a 10-bed inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. This leadership position plays a vital role in enhancing patient care in a collaborative, community-focused environment.
Location: Western New York, scenic Finger Lakes region
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
- Holidays: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Team Structure:
- 2 Full-Time Pharmacists
- 2 Full-Time Pharmacy Technicians
- 2 PRN Pharmacists
- 1 PRN Pharmacy Technician
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices
- Lead and mentor a team of pharmacists and technicians
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to optimize pharmaceutical services and patient outcomes
- Manage department workflows, budgeting, and inventory control
- Facilitate continuous quality improvement and staff education initiatives
Qualifications:
- Current, active pharmacy license in good standing in New York State or willingness to obtain prior to start date (employment contingent on licensure)
- Full disclosure of all active and inactive pharmacist licenses for verification
- Minimum of 3 years acute care hospital management experience
- 3–5 years hospital pharmacy experience
