A community health system in Western New York is seeking a skilled Director of Pharmacy to lead their pharmacy operations. This direct hire role offers the chance to manage a close-knit pharmacy team within a county-owned health system anchored by a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital and a 10-bed inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. This leadership position plays a vital role in enhancing patient care in a collaborative, community-focused environment.

Location: Western New York, scenic Finger Lakes region

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Sunday: Closed
  • Holidays: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Team Structure:

  • 2 Full-Time Pharmacists
  • 2 Full-Time Pharmacy Technicians
  • 2 PRN Pharmacists
  • 1 PRN Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices
  • Lead and mentor a team of pharmacists and technicians
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to optimize pharmaceutical services and patient outcomes
  • Manage department workflows, budgeting, and inventory control
  • Facilitate continuous quality improvement and staff education initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Current, active pharmacy license in good standing in New York State or willingness to obtain prior to start date (employment contingent on licensure)
  • Full disclosure of all active and inactive pharmacist licenses for verification
  • Minimum of 3 years acute care hospital management experience
  • 3–5 years hospital pharmacy experience
