A leadership opportunity in pharmacy management awaits at a well-established hospital seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). This contract role offers a chance to take charge of a hospital pharmacy department with a focus on inpatient care, sterile compounding, and advanced pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee pharmacy staffing, scheduling, and daily operations to maintain efficient service delivery
  • Manage narcotics ordering and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Supervise sterile compounding practices, including IV preparation
  • Provide on-call coverage during pharmacy off-hours (1-2 calls weekly on average)
  • Cover every fourth weekend with on-call duties from Friday evenings to Monday mornings
  • Support specialty areas such as Emergency Department, Infusion, and Orthopedics using Pyxis system automation

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Licensure as a Pharmacist in Ohio is required
  • Proven experience in inpatient pharmacy settings with knowledge of 340B programs
  • Familiarity with EPIC order entry system preferred; training provided
  • Experience with pharmacy automation technology including Pyxis preferred
  • Strong leadership skills in staffing and scheduling management
  • Ability to handle sterile compounding responsibilities confidently

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM (4-10 hour shifts)
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Weekend coverage every 4th weekend plus on-call from Friday 6:00 PM to Monday 7:30 AM

Additional Details:

  • Site recently completed DNV accreditation with no current issues
  • Staff includes one full-time pharmacist and two PRN pharmacists
  • Tech support available for IVs and automation, excluding verification
  • Dress code requires gray scrubs
  • Hospital may assist with housing arrangements near local cabins
  • Nearest airport: CMH
