Director of Pharmacy in Carlsbad, NM

An interim Pharmacy Director position is available at a 99-bed hospital with additional provider clinics in New Mexico. This role is critical in overseeing pharmacy operations to ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The position offers an 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule, totaling a 40-hour workweek, with a 13-week contract duration and potential for transition to a permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure pharmacy operations comply with all applicable regulatory requirements and standards
• Manage daily pharmacy functions within the hospital and associated clinics
• Oversee medication management processes, including dispensing and inventory control
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to optimize pharmaceutical care
• Maintain documentation and reporting in accordance with pharmacy laws and guidelines
• Lead initiatives to improve pharmacy services and patient safety

Qualifications:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacy License is required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Director
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and compliance standards
• Experience with MedHost electronic medical records system preferred
• Proven leadership and management skills in a hospital pharmacy setting

Shift/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (40 hours per week)
