An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to oversee pharmacy operations within an inpatient behavioral health setting. This contract role begins on May 18 and will continue until a permanent candidate is hired. The assignment is based in Council Bluffs, IA, offering a focused Monday through Friday schedule with six-hour shifts each day.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Oversee medication dispensing and ensure accuracy in repackaging using systems such as Milt/Medi-dose or HCL.
- Maintain and monitor automated drug dispensing machines, including loading medications and running restock reports.
- Lead and support pharmacy staff while fostering a safe and effective medication management environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care in a behavioral health setting.
Qualifications:
- Active Iowa Pharmacy License required.
- Experience with Omnicell automated dispensing systems is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in medication repackaging techniques, specifically with Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems.
- Basic understanding of automated drug loading and inventory management.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage pharmacy operations smoothly.
Location: Council Bluffs, IA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6 hours per day
