Lead pharmacy operations as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a new behavioral health facility in Peoria, IL. This contract role offers a unique chance to shape pharmacy services from the ground up in an inpatient hospital setting specializing in behavioral health. The position requires a licensed Illinois pharmacist ready to start by May 25th, with coverage extending through July, and possible adjustments to the end date.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy overseeing all pharmacy functions
- Manage pharmacy openings including stocking and organizing Omnicell automated systems
- Approve medication orders and ensure safe, compliant pharmacy operations
- Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee meetings
- Set up and implement pharmacy processes and standards in a new facility
- Provide on-call coverage during weekdays after shifts and possibly weekends
Preferred qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist in the state of Illinois
- Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy, ideally within behavioral health
- Familiarity with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred (training provided)
- Ability to work independently as the sole pharmacy professional without technician support
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, plus on-call after shifts
- Weekend on-call may be required
