Pharmacy Overview
Pharmacy Operating Hours
Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Pharmacy Team
A well-established team of 20 pharmacy professionals, including 6 full-time employees, 10 part-time employees, and 4 PRN employees. The Director will lead, develop, and inspire this team across all shifts and settings.
About This Role
As Director of Pharmacy,y you will report to hospital administration and collaborate closely with clinical leadership teams across the organization. You will have full responsibility for the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing and financial management of the pharmacy department. Your impact will be felt every single day by the team you lead and the patients you serve.
Responsibilities
Provide visionary and accountable leadership for all pharmacy operations across the hospital.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 20 pharmacy professionals across full-time, part-time, and PRN staff.
Ensure full compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and all applicable regulatory standards.s
Oversee clinical pharmacy services including drug therapy monitoring, formulary management and patient safety initiatives.
Manage pharmacy budget, staffing, inventory and financial performance
Collaborate with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary care teams to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes
Develop and implement pharmacy policies, procedures and quality improvement initiatives
Drive a culture of continuous quality improvement, patient safety and professional excellence
Experience
Minimum three years of Director of Pharmacy experience in an acute care inpatient hospital setting required; this is a hard requirement.
Minimum three years of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
Strong knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS regulatory compliance required
Experience managing a diverse pharmacy team across multiple employment types preferred
Community or safety net hospital experience a strong plus
Skills
