Director of Pharmacy - Chula Vista, CA

An interim leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy at a 70-bed Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital. This role involves comprehensive oversight of the pharmacy department and serving as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the site. The position is contract-based with potential to transition into a permanent role.

Location: Chula Vista, CA (San Diego area)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks + with the possibility of temp-to-hire
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and management for the pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and high-quality patient care
• Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge, assuming full accountability for pharmacy services
• Oversee medication management, dispensing procedures, and staff supervision
• Utilize RX Connect information system effectively for pharmacy processes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize therapeutic outcomes and support clinical initiatives

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in California with active license
• Proven experience as Director of Pharmacy within California healthcare settings
• Strong knowledge of LTAC pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in pharmacy information systems, specifically RX Connect
