Director of Pharmacy - Chula Vista, California

An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to provide leadership and oversight at a 70-bed Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital. This contract role offers the potential to transition to a permanent position and requires immediate availability.

Location: Chula Vista, CA
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the site, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
• Oversee all pharmacy operations, including medication distribution, inventory management, and staff supervision
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize pharmaceutical care and improve patient outcomes
• Implement and maintain pharmacy policies and procedures in alignment with hospital standards
• Utilize RX Connect IT system to support pharmacy functions and documentation

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid California Pharmacist License
• Proven experience as a Director of Pharmacy within California healthcare settings
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and workflows effectively
• In-depth knowledge of pharmacy regulations and best practices specific to LTAC hospitals
• Familiarity with RX Connect or similar pharmacy IT systems preferred
