Director of Pharmacy | Cicero, Illinois

This contract opportunity seeks a qualified Director of Pharmacy to lead pharmacy operations at a new behavioral health facility located in Cicero, IL. The role is essential to opening and establishing the inpatient hospital’s pharmacy services, with a focus on operational management and clinical oversight. Coverage is needed starting May 25th through July, with potential flexibility on the end date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Director of Pharmacy and pharmacist in charge, responsible for pharmacy setup and ongoing operations
• Lead the opening of the new inpatient behavioral health facility pharmacy, including stocking and managing Omnicell system automation
• Approve medication orders and participate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee meetings
• Provide clinical oversight and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards
• Respond to after-hours phone coverage as needed Monday through Friday, with possible weekend on-call duties
• Collaborate with staff to establish efficient workflows and processes
• No sterile compounding involved; training will be provided on HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Illinois pharmacist license required
• Experience working in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings preferred, especially behavioral health focus
• Prior operational leadership or director-level pharmacy experience highly desirable
• Proficiency with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation tools is a plus, training will be provided as needed
• Ability to work independently in a new start environment without pharmacy tech support

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, plus on-call coverage after shifts
• Possible weekend on-call coverage
