An established 325-bed community hospital seeks an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Consultant. This role requires an accomplished professional to provide operational leadership and strategic guidance, working closely with the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to ensure safe, effective, and compliant medication management across the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations in partnership with the PIC, advancing strategic departmental priorities.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with DEA, USP, and state pharmacy regulations, maintaining survey readiness at all times.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives related to medication safety, expense control, workflow optimization, and clinical services.
- Lead projects focused on purchasing optimization, formulary standardization, revenue cycle enhancement, and staff development.
- Collaborate with hospital executives, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve hospital-wide and pharmacy department goals.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience as a Director of Pharmacy in a hospital setting with comparable size or larger.
- Active pharmacist license in the state of Georgia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain promptly.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shifts.
This contract position requires an ASAP start for a duration of at least 13 weeks, offering the chance to impact a critical pharmacy department within a thriving community hospital.
