An experienced pharmacy leader is needed to serve as Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacy Consultant at a 325-bed community hospital. This contract opportunity offers the chance to influence operational excellence and strategic growth within a well-established healthcare environment.
The role involves partnering closely with the hospital’s Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide leadership, operational oversight, and staff coaching. The position focuses on ensuring safe, effective, and compliant medication management while driving continuous performance improvement. Key initiatives include personnel management, medication safety, expense control, and workflow optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the PIC to manage daily pharmacy operations and advance strategic priorities.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
- Maintain compliance with DEA, USP, and state regulations while ensuring survey readiness.
- Lead projects involving pharmacy operations, clinical services, purchasing optimization, formulary standardization, revenue cycle, and staff development.
- Work closely with hospital executives, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve hospital and departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years recent/current experience as Director of Pharmacy in a similar large hospital setting.
- Active Georgia pharmacy license.
- BLS certification or willingness to obtain.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, day shifts.
