Lead the pharmacy operations of a 325-bed community hospital as an Interim Director of Pharmacy/Pharmacy Consultant. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and staff development within a dynamic healthcare environment. The position starts ASAP for a 13+ week assignment with a Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to manage daily pharmacy operations and advance strategic departmental priorities.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with DEA, USP, and state regulations while maintaining readiness for surveys and audits.
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives focused on medication safety, personnel management, expense control, and workflow optimization.
  • Lead key projects related to clinical services, purchasing optimization, formulary standardization, and revenue cycle management.
  • Collaborate effectively with hospital executives, medical staff, department personnel, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve hospital and pharmacy goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of recent or current Director of Pharmacy experience within a larger hospital setting.
  • Active Georgia pharmacy licensure required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to coach and develop team members.
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance and operational management in a hospital pharmacy.
