Home Infusion Assistant Director of Pharmacy - Concord, CA

A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy to manage and oversee operations at a Specialty Home Infusion Pharmacy. This full-time, direct hire role is focused on delivering high-quality pharmacy services and medical supplies in compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Direct all pharmacy and operational functions to ensure effective, efficient pharmacy services.
• Maintain compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards, and state pharmacy board regulations.
• Oversee compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services prescribed by authorized medical personnel.
• Ensure pharmacy operations meet licensing requirements set by local, state, and federal agencies.
• Accurately prepare prescriptions, solutions, and medications.
• Assess patient drug and disease information to identify therapeutic needs and drug-related issues.
• Develop and revise patient care plans and formulations for medication preparation.
• Supervise Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Interns.
• Manage controlled substances distribution, security, and documentation.
• Interface professionally with physicians and referral sources.
• Serve as a drug information resource and support sales activities.
• Participate in pharmacist on-call schedules and cover shifts as needed.
• Handle managerial duties including hiring, training, performance management, team development, and payroll approval.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or R.Ph. licensure with clinical experience.
• Current, valid CA pharmacy license in good standing; additional state licensure may be required.
• 3-5 years of pharmacist experience with direct compounding preferred.
• Experience in specialty pharmacy or home infusion highly desired.
• Proficiency in CPR and Care Tend systems is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
