Director of Pharmacy | Concord, California

A full-time leadership role overseeing a Specialty Home Infusion Pharmacy offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to manage pharmacy operations and staff in a dynamic healthcare setting. The Director of Pharmacy will ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services and compliance with all applicable laws and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage overall pharmacy operations to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
• Oversee compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring, adhering to USP 797 and USP 800 standards, alongside State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Ensure pharmacy practices meet all local, state, and federal licensing and standards requirements.
• Prepare and verify prescriptions, solutions, and medications accurately and promptly.
• Conduct assessments of patient, drug, and disease information to identify drug-related problems and revise care plans accordingly.
• Supervise and support Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Interns in daily operations.
• Manage controlled substances, including preparation, distribution, and security.
• Collaborate with physicians and referral sources as needed.
• Serve as a drug information resource and support sales efforts.
• Maintain on-call pharmacist schedule and provide coverage when required.
• Lead managerial tasks involving hiring, training, performance management, goal setting, and strategic planning.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Registered Pharmacist with relevant clinical experience.
• Current and in good standing California pharmacy license; additional licensure as required.
• 3-5 years of pharmacist experience, ideally with direct compounding and specialty pharmacy or home infusion background.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with a focus on training, educating, and leading by example.
• Customer service excellence and familiarity with CPR and Care Tend systems are desirable.
