A healthcare facility specializing in behavioral health is seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to provide leadership and support during a critical transition period. This contract position begins September 1, 2026, and will continue until a permanent hire is made.
This role is based in the San Antonio, TX area and requires a Texas pharmacist license. The ideal candidate will have experience working in hospital settings and with Omnicell automation systems. Training will be provided for the site’s order entry system (HCS) and Omnicell technology, supporting smooth operational integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and administrative duties to ensure compliance and efficient workflow.
- Provide on-call support after shifts and on weekends.
- Support efforts to restore CMS accreditation as the facility ramps back up.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety within the behavioral health pharmacy setting.
- Collaborate with a small pharmacy team including one full-time and one per diem pharmacist.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Active Texas pharmacist license required.
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Omnicell pharmacy automation systems preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage staffing and administrative responsibilities effectively.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- On-call duties after shifts and on weekends
