A leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Director eager to influence clinical, operational, and financial pharmacy services within a critical illness recovery hospital. This facility is dedicated to delivering world-class inpatient post-ICU care for chronic, critically ill patients needing extended healing and recovery. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the hospital pharmacy by collaborating closely with the CEO and clinical teams to oversee clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial functions.
- Ensure accurate preparation of all medications and chemicals with strict compliance to The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards.
- Manage and administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program to enhance patient safety.
- Develop and deliver training and education programs for new employees.
- Participate actively in quality assurance programs improving drug utilization and therapy effectiveness.
- Monitor patient drug therapies to optimize outcomes and safety.
- Develop at least one clinically oriented program annually, including but not limited to Pharmacokinetic Dosing Services, Patient Counseling, Pain Management, or Nutritional Support Services.
- Promote continuous quality improvement practices throughout the pharmacy.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of all state licensure educational requirements.
- Minimum of three years’ hospital experience within the last five years.
- Current state pharmacy license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification if required.
- Preferred: PharmD or BS Pharmacy with advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency completion.
- Minimum of one year in a managerial pharmacy role preferred.
- Board Certification and/or Residency completion is an asset.
