An Interim Director of Pharmacy role is available at a 70-bed Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital in Coronado, CA. This contract position offers the opportunity to oversee and lead the pharmacy department, serving as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for the facility. The role is critical in ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive oversight of the pharmacy department, ensuring regulatory compliance and optimal pharmacy operations
  • Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for the site, responsible for all aspects of pharmacy services
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures
  • Manage pharmacy staff and workflow to meet patient care needs efficiently
  • Utilize RX Connect IT system for pharmacy operations and documentation
  • Monitor and manage medication distribution, inventory, and usage to maintain safety and cost-effectiveness

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Valid California pharmacist license
  • Proven experience as a Director of Pharmacy (DOP) within California healthcare settings
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a pharmacy department independently
  • Familiarity with RX Connect or similar pharmacy IT systems preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, day shifts

Contract Details:

  • Immediate start preferred
  • Initial contract term of 13 weeks or more
  • Option to convert to permanent hire based on performance and mutual interest
