An opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy at an inpatient behavioral health facility in Council Bluffs, IA. This contract position begins on 5/18 and will continue until a permanent candidate is hired. The role involves overseeing pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting patient care in a specialized behavioral health setting.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 6 hours per day
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily pharmacy operations in the inpatient behavioral health environment
- Supervise pharmacy staff and processes during the interim period
- Ensure regulatory compliance and safe medication distribution
- Assist with automated medication systems, including repackaging and restocking as necessary
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient medication needs
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Iowa pharmacy license required
- Experience with Omnicell automated medication management systems preferred
- Familiarity with repackaging procedures using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL systems is desirable
- Basic knowledge of loading medications into automated machines and running restock reports is beneficial
