Director of Pharmacy | Dayton, Ohio

An interim leadership opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to serve as Director of Pharmacy at an acute care facility with a 71-bed capacity and an average daily census of 25-30 patients. This contract position begins September 14th and is expected to last approximately 13 weeks while the permanent Director of Pharmacy is recruited. No weekend or on-call responsibilities are required.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Location: Dayton, OH

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain pharmacy and staffing/training schedules for pharmacists and technicians.
• Oversee Coumadin Clinic nursing schedules and coverage.
• Lead USP 797/800 competency training; initiate staff testing by late October.
• Chair Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee and participate in safety, QAPI, budget, strategic sourcing, stroke, and sepsis committees.
• Manage diversion monitoring and data consolidation.
• Handle drug shortage management and coordinate IT/EPIC update training including drug library management.
• Supervise sterile compounding training and competencies without direct compounding duties.
• Coordinate 340B State of Ohio reporting due October 1, 2026.
• Support Baxter Pump drug library build and Pyxis server upgrades targeted for year-end completion.
• Facilitate QS1 to BestRx transition for outpatient prescriptions, aiming to begin build/conversion/training in January.
• Ensure readiness for the next ACHC inspection window starting November 2027.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current Ohio Pharmacist licensure (required).
• Experience managing pharmacy operations in acute care settings.
• Familiarity with Coumadin Clinic operations and anticoagulation management.
• Proficiency with EPIC and pharmacy IT systems.
• Strong leadership and committee coordination skills.
• Knowledge of USP 797/800 standards and sterile compounding oversight.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
