Leading the pharmacy operations at a newly opening behavioral health facility requires a focused, dynamic Director of Pharmacy with both leadership experience and clinical expertise. This role offers an exciting opportunity to establish pharmacy services from the ground up in a specialized inpatient behavioral hospital setting.

Located in Peoria, IL, this contract position is essential to launching the pharmacy department, with a start date as soon as May 25th through July (end date subject to change). Coverage hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with required on-call availability following each shift and possible weekend on-call duties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the working Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge
  • Spearheading the opening of the pharmacy, including initial setup and Omnicell stocking
  • Approving medication orders and overseeing order entry system usage (HCS experience preferred)
  • Participating in Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee meetings
  • Establishing pharmacy workflows and protocols for a behavioral health inpatient site
  • Managing pharmacy operations independently without tech support

Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Illinois (required)
  • Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, preferably behavioral health
  • Familiarity with HCS order entry and Omnicell automation systems is a strong plus
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work autonomously in a new facility startup
