Director of Pharmacy | Fairborn, Ohio

An Interim Director of Pharmacy opportunity is available to lead pharmaceutical services in a 71-licensed-bed acute care facility with specialized clinics including a Coumadin Clinic. This contract position begins mid-September and extends for approximately 13 weeks until a permanent director is secured. The role requires active Ohio Pharmacist licensure and experience in managing pharmacy operations within an acute care setting.

Location: Fairborn, Ohio
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• No weekend or on-call coverage required

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage pharmacy scheduling and staffing, including pharmacists, technicians, and nursing staff within the Coumadin Clinic
• Oversee training programs related to USP competencies and sterile compounding training/competency oversight
• Lead Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee and attend relevant meetings including safety, QAPI, budget, strategic sourcing, stroke, and sepsis committees
• Monitor diversion activities and consolidate relevant data
• Manage drug shortage protocols and facilitate IT-related tasks such as EPIC updates and drug library management, including Baxter pump drug library and Pyxis upgrades
• Supervise 340B reporting for the state of Ohio
• Support upcoming transitions like QS1 to BestRx system for outpatient prescriptions
• Prepare for the next ACHC inspection scheduled for late 2027

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Ohio Pharmacist licensure required
• Proven leadership in a hospital pharmacy setting with strong knowledge of acute care pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
• Experience with EPIC pharmacy systems and drug library management
• Familiarity with USP 797/800 standards and 340B program requirements
• Ability to lead committees and manage interdepartmental collaboration
