Director of Pharmacy - Fairborn, Ohio

An Interim Director of Pharmacy role is available for a healthcare facility with 71 licensed beds and an average daily census of 25-30. This contract position begins mid-September and extends for approximately 13 weeks while the permanent Director of Pharmacy is being recruited. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 4:30PM, with no weekend or on-call duties.

This role requires an Ohio Pharmacist license and experience with EPIC pharmacy IT systems. The facility specializes in acute care and operates a Coumadin Clinic supported by a multidisciplinary team including 4.4 pharmacist FTEs, 5.7 technician/buyer FTEs, and nursing staff dedicated to the Coumadin Clinic.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and managing pharmacy staffing and training schedules
• Coordinating Coumadin Clinic nurse scheduling and coverage
• Overseeing USP competency training and sterile compounding training/competencies (oversight role only)
• Leading and participating in committees such as safety, QAPI, budget, strategic sourcing, stroke, and sepsis
• Chairing the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee
• Monitoring medication diversion and consolidating related data
• Managing drug shortages and facilitating timely EPIC system updates and drug library management
• Ensuring compliance with 340B program reporting and supporting ongoing IT projects including Baxter Pump drug library build and Pyxis server upgrades
• Preparing for upcoming USP 797/800 competency testing and transitions in outpatient prescription platforms (QS1 to BestRx)
