Lead pharmacy operations in a behavioral health facility located in Fishers, IN, by serving as the Director of Pharmacy on a contract basis. This role primarily involves staffing oversight, verifying medication orders, dispensing medications—including controlled substances—and managing automated dispensing systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong inpatient pharmacy leadership experience and hold an active Indiana pharmacist license in good standing.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist in Indiana with good standing
- Proven inpatient pharmacy and leadership experience
- Familiarity with automated dispensing systems (PYXIS) and order entry systems (HCS) preferred; training provided if needed
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards including Joint Commission, CMS, and state pharmacy board requirements
- Ability to support a behavioral health pharmacy environment
- Experience as a Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is advantageous
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations and staffing
- Verify and dispense all medication orders accurately and safely
- Manage the Pyxis automated dispensing cabinet system
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission and CMS
- Provide on-call support as required, with potential weekend on-call responsibilities
- Collaborate remotely with Assistant Director of Pharmacy and other system Directors of Pharmacy for guidance and support
- Engage in ongoing training and transition support from outgoing Director of Pharmacy
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, plus on-call coverage
- Potential weekend on-call availability

- No pharmacy technician support on site; Director of Pharmacy manages tasks independently
