A leadership role is available for a Director of Pharmacy at a behavioral health facility in Fishers, IN. This contract opportunity spans from late March through June 2026, with potential for extension until a permanent placement is made. The position involves oversight of pharmacy operations within an inpatient setting, emphasizing regulatory compliance and effective medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and dispense medications, including controlled substances
  • Oversee the Pyxis automated dispensing system and ensure optimal functionality
  • Manage staffing and pharmacy operations aligned with Joint Commission and CMS standards
  • Maintain compliance with state board of pharmacy regulations
  • Provide on-call support during weekdays and potentially on weekends
  • Collaborate with the outgoing Director of Pharmacy for smooth transition and take part in training with assistant directors as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Indiana in good standing
  • Proven inpatient pharmacy experience
  • Leadership experience specifically within pharmacy settings
  • Familiarity with HCS order entry and PYXIS systems preferred; training available if needed
  • Experience in behavioral health pharmacy operations is a plus

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, plus on-call duties
  • Weekend coverage generally on-call only

Additional Details:

  • This position is director-level with no technician support staff
  • The last Joint Commission survey took place in March 2023; previous director support will be accessible
  • Business casual or scrubs attire expected
  • Local candidates are preferred, but travel expense considerations apply
