Director of Pharmacy - Florissant, MO

An interim leadership opportunity is available overseeing pharmacy operations in a behavioral health setting beginning early July. This role requires a licensed Missouri pharmacist with expertise in inpatient behavioral health and proficiency in Pyxis automation.

Location: Florissant, MO (St. Louis metro area)

Position Type: Contract, approximately 8+ weeks, starting July 6 with potential for extension until permanent hire.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., plus on-call coverage
• Weekend on-call support required
• Additional assistance may be needed during site startup phase

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with executive leadership and Area Director of Pharmacy to advance pharmacy setup of a newly launched behavioral health facility
• Manage medication procurement, packaging, and Pyxis stocking in preparation for patient admissions beginning mid-July
• Conduct order verification once patients are onsite using the HCS order entry system (training provided)
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements
• Provide on-call clinical support and pharmacy expertise during non-business hours

Qualifications:

• Active Missouri Pharmacist license with Medication Therapy Services authorization
• Experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy operations
• Proficiency with Pyxis automation systems
• Familiarity with pharmacy start-up processes preferred
• Ability to work independently in a small pharmacy setting without staff or technician support
• Local candidates preferred for ease of onsite presence and collaboration
