Director of Pharmacy in Forest, VA

An urgent opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to serve as the working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a small behavioral hospital. This role supports a brand new hospital facility, a joint venture between two major healthcare organizations, requiring immediate placement to fill a current vacancy.

Location: Lynchburg, VA
Job Type: Contract (13+ weeks, potential temp-to-hire)
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
• Provide direct consultation with physicians and nursing staff
• Oversee pharmacy technicians to ensure compliance and workflow efficiency
• Manage restocking of Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
• Maintain adherence to all regulatory requirements and hospital policies

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist authorized to practice in Virginia
• Previous experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or working PIC
• Strong understanding of behavioral health pharmacy needs is a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
