Director of Pharmacy - Forest, VA

A behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA, requires an experienced Pharmacist to serve as the working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). This role offers an opportunity to lead pharmacy operations in a brand-new facility born from a joint venture between two established healthcare organizations. The position begins immediately to fill a current vacancy and is expected to continue for at least 13 weeks, with potential for transition to a permanent role.

Responsibilities include dispensing medications, consulting with physicians and nurses, overseeing pharmacy technicians, restocking Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs), and ensuring smooth daily pharmacy operations. This position requires strong leadership skills and hands-on pharmacy experience to maintain a high standard of patient care and safety.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Day shifts

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist eligible to practice in Virginia
• Previous experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or in a supervisory pharmacy role
• Background in hospital or behavioral health pharmacy preferred
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with medical staff
• Ability to manage pharmacy technicians and maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations
