An opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy to lead and manage pharmacy operations at a small behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA. The position offers an immediate start with a 13+ week contract, with potential for transition to a permanent role.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), actively managing daily pharmacy operations
• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
• Consult and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize medication therapy
• Oversee pharmacy technicians to ensure compliance and operational excellence
• Maintain and restock Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) to support clinical staff needs
• Implement pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with credentials to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge
• Experience in managing or working within behavioral health pharmacy settings preferred
• Ability to balance leadership duties with direct patient care and dispensing responsibilities
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with automated dispensing systems and pharmacy inventory management
