An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy leader to step into the role of Interim Director of Pharmacy at a 325-bed community hospital located in Fort Benning, GA. This contract position, starting ASAP and lasting for 13 weeks or more, offers Monday through Friday day shifts, providing a focused work schedule.
This leadership role requires a strategic and operational expert ready to collaborate closely with the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to enhance medication management practices. The primary mission is to drive performance improvement, uphold regulatory compliance, and spearhead initiatives that improve personnel management, medication safety, expense control, and workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the PIC in managing daily pharmacy operations and advancing strategic priorities.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with DEA, USP, and state regulations; maintain survey readiness.
- Lead projects targeting pharmacy operations, clinical service enhancement, purchasing optimization, formulary standardization, revenue cycle improvements, and staff development.
- Collaborate with hospital executives, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to meet institutional and departmental goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years recent or current Director of Pharmacy experience in a larger hospital setting.
- Active Georgia pharmacist license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain promptly.
