Director of Pharmacy in Fremont, CA

Lead the pharmacy operations of a Specialty Home Infusion Pharmacy as the Director of Pharmacy. This full-time direct hire opportunity is based in the Fremont, CA area and offers the chance to oversee pharmacy services, staff management, and regulatory compliance in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct all pharmacy and operational functions to ensure effective and compliant service delivery.
• Apply knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 standards, along with State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Oversee compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services in collaboration with medical staff.
• Ensure pharmacy practices meet federal, state, and local licensing and standards.
• Prepare prescriptions, medications, and solutions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Assess patient drug information and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Manage preparation and security of controlled substances.
• Collaborate with physicians, referral sources, and sales teams as needed.
• Lead hiring, training, performance management, and strategic planning for pharmacy staff.
• Maintain on-call responsibilities and provide pharmacist coverage when necessary.
• Perform additional managerial and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph.) license with relevant clinical experience.
• Current and good standing California pharmacist license; additional licensure may be required.
• 3-5 years of pharmacist experience with a focus on compounding and specialty pharmacy or home infusion preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with infusion practices and regulation compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• CPR certification and CareTend proficiency are desirable.
