Director of Pharmacy | Garrison, Texas

This opportunity is for an Interim Director of Pharmacy position requiring a licensed Pharmacist in Texas, with credentials to serve as a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). Located in Nacogdoches, TX, this contract role offers a leadership position in an acute care inpatient setting. The assignment begins August 3rd and extends for at least three months, with potential for extended coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative oversight and leadership as Director of Pharmacy
• Manage pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians
• Ensure regulatory compliance and promote quality patient care
• Coordinate and deliver pharmacy inservices to enhance team knowledge
• Maintain a business casual dress code
• Utilize Cerner/Siemens for order entry and Omnicell for site automation
• Oversee acute care pharmacy operations focused on inpatient services

Required Qualifications:

• Current Texas pharmacist license with PIC authorization
• Experience managing pharmacy operations in an inpatient acute care environment
• Proven leadership and administrative skills overseeing pharmacy teams
• Familiarity with Cerner/Siemens order entry systems and Omnicell automation
• Strong commitment to regulatory compliance and delivering quality patient care

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day shift (40 hours/week)
• No weekend coverage or on-call responsibilities required

The pharmacy staff includes one Clinical Pharmacist, four PRN pharmacists, five full-time and three PRN certified pharmacy technicians, all supported by the Director’s leadership.
