An interim leadership opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy professional licensed in Texas to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at an acute care facility. This contract position provides a pivotal role in overseeing pharmacy operations and guiding staff to deliver quality patient care.
Location: Nacogdoches, TX
Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift (40 hours per week)
Key responsibilities include administrative oversight of the department, managing pharmacy staffing, providing leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating pharmacy in-services. Support is provided by a dedicated team comprising one clinical pharmacist, several PRN pharmacists, full-time and PRN pharmacy technicians. The site utilizes Cerner/Siemens for order entry and Omnicell automation to support workflow efficiencies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Texas pharmacist licensure with active status
- Proven acute inpatient care expertise
- Prior management or leadership experience within a pharmacy department
- Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team focused on regulatory standards and quality care
The role focuses on acute care pharmacy services without sterile compounding responsibilities. Professional appearance consistent with a business casual dress code is expected.
