An opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy at an inpatient behavioral health facility in Council Bluffs, IA. This contract assignment begins on May 18 and will continue until a permanent candidate is hired. The role involves a Monday through Friday schedule, working 6 hours per day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee pharmacy operations within the inpatient/behavioral health setting
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care
  • Manage drug inventory, including repackaging medications using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems
  • Utilize Omnicell technology for automated drug dispensing
  • Load medications into automated machines and execute restock reports to maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Lead pharmacy staff and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care

Qualifications:

  • Current Iowa pharmacist license required
  • Experience with Omnicell dispensing systems preferred
  • Familiarity with repackaging medications via Milt/Medi-dose or HCL highly desirable
  • Basic knowledge of loading automated dispensing machines and running restock reports
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance
