Director of Pharmacy in Grand Rapids, MI

A leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Director of Pharmacy to oversee pharmacy operations at a behavioral health facility. This contract role offers a unique chance to serve as both Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge, providing critical support during a transition period.

This position is based in Byron Center, Michigan, at a behavioral health facility with an average daily census of 40 patients. The ideal candidate will hold an active Michigan pharmacist license in good standing and have experience managing pharmacy services within behavioral health settings.

Position Details:

• Coverage: ASAP to approximately 8+ weeks (covering until permanent hire; current DOP’s last day is May 22nd)
• Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Saturdays (remote), 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• Order Entry System: Experience with HCS preferred
• Site Automation: Experience with Omnicell highly desirable
• Responsibilities include order verification, inventory maintenance, and overall pharmacy leadership
• No pharmacy technician support available
• Dress code: Purple scrubs
• Nearest Airport: Gerald Ford International Airport (GRR)

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active Michigan pharmacist license in good standing (required)
• Proven experience as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge
• Strong background in behavioral health pharmacy practice
• Familiarity with HCS order entry and Omnicell automation preferred
• Ability to manage pharmacy operations independently without technician support
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
