This opportunity calls for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to provide expert leadership and management in a hospital pharmacy setting. Located in Great Falls, MT, this contract position requires an experienced pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), overseeing pharmacy operations while maintaining high standards of service and compliance.

Location: Great Falls, Montana
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Duration: Starting ASAP, expected to last at least 3 months until the permanent position is filled
On-Call/Weekend Coverage: Not required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the hospital’s pharmacy services, including outpatient clinics and surgical hospital settings
  • Provide professional oversight and direction to a staff averaging 2-3 full-time pharmacists per day
  • Drive ongoing projects such as clean room renovations, medi-tech IT systems, and financial analysis for the infusion center
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and promote best practices across pharmacy operations
  • Foster a stable, cohesive work environment, reinforcing professional standards and operational efficiency

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Montana pharmacist license required
  • Proven hospital pharmacy management experience with a focus on outpatient clinic and surgical hospital settings preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide a small but vital pharmacy team
  • Experience with pharmacy automation systems; familiarity with Touchpoint is a plus
  • Strategic thinker capable of handling multiple projects and improving pharmacy operations
