This opportunity calls for a skilled Director of Pharmacy with PIC responsibilities to oversee pharmacy operations in a licensed 54-bed inpatient behavioral health facility. The role involves leading pharmacy services for adult patients 18 and older at a stable site with a dedicated team of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. The position starts October 1st with an expected 13-week contract to provide coverage while the facility transitions to a permanent Director of Pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage pharmacy staffing and daily operations ensuring compliance and quality care
- Participate in Director of Pharmacy committee work and collaborate with leadership
- Oversee medication distribution and inventory management with pharmacist and technician support
- Conduct overlap training with outgoing Director of Pharmacy to ensure smooth transition
- Be available for on-call support Monday through Friday and occasional weekend shifts
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Texas Pharmacist licensure required
- Inpatient pharmacy experience essential; behavioral health pharmacy knowledge is a strong plus
- Familiarity with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation technology preferred but not required
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to address staffing challenges and maintain operational stability
Schedule & Location:
- Greenville, TX
- Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM plus on-call hours
- Occasional weekend coverage, Saturday-Sunday, 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM
The site's current support team includes one full-time technician, part-time and per diem technicians, and pharmacists, providing a collaborative environment. The last Joint Commission visit was in September 2025, and ongoing efforts focus on staffing continuity and maintaining high-quality pharmacy services.
