An opening leadership role is available for a Director of Pharmacy to oversee inpatient pharmacy operations at a behavioral health facility in Indianapolis, IN. This contract position requires strong leadership skills and experience managing pharmacy services in a clinical setting. The opportunity involves directing pharmacy functions while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all inpatient pharmacy activities, including verification and dispensing of medications, including controlled substances
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of Pyxis automated dispensing systems
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state board of pharmacy regulations
  • Manage pharmacy staffing and scheduling, including on-call responsibilities Monday through Friday, with potential weekend on-call coverage
  • Collaborate with leadership to support continuous quality improvement and survey readiness

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Indiana in good standing
  • Proven inpatient pharmacy experience with leadership/management responsibilities
  • Familiarity with HCS order entry system preferred; training available if needed
  • Experience working in behavioral health pharmacy settings a plus
  • Ability to work independently with limited technician support

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, plus on-call coverage
  • Weekend on-call as needed

Additional Details:

  • Contract duration from March 30, 2026, through June 30, 2026, or until permanent placement
  • Training provided onsite by outgoing Director of Pharmacy and remotely by Associate Director and peer Directors
  • Business casual or scrubs dress code
  • Preference for local candidates; travel expenses may be considered
  • Nearest airport: Indianapolis International Airport
