A leadership role is available for a seasoned pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy at a behavioral health facility in Indianapolis, IN. This contract position, spanning from late March through June 2026 or until a permanent hire is made, offers a unique opportunity to lead pharmacy operations in a specialized healthcare environment.

Contract Type: Temporary leadership coverage
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- On-call coverage during weekdays and potential on-call weekends
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist in Indiana in good standing
- Strong inpatient pharmacy background with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Experience with Joint Commission and CMS regulatory compliance preferred
- Familiarity with behavioral health pharmacy operations
- Ability to manage medication verification, dispense including controlled substances, and oversee automated dispensing systems
- Willingness to undergo training on HCS order entry and PYXIS automation systems if not previously experienced
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee medication order verification and dispensing processes to ensure accuracy and safety
- Manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinet system and maintain regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state pharmacy board requirements
- Fill leadership void left by the previous director while facilitating smooth pharmacy operations without technician support
- Provide staffing oversight and operational guidance to maintain high-quality pharmacy service
- Collaborate with outgoing Director of Pharmacy onsite and coordinate with Assistant Director of Pharmacy and other directors remotely for seamless transition and support
