A full-time leadership role is available for a Director of Pharmacy at a hospital located in Yorktown, VA. This position oversees the delivery of pharmaceutical and clinical pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while promoting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily pharmacy operations through supervision of department supervisors and staff, driving continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure comprehensive training, performance feedback, and ongoing development for all direct reports to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with standards including Joint Commission, DOH, and Board of Pharmacy requirements.
  • Manage budget recommendations for capital equipment and operational expenses while projecting departmental revenues.
  • Serve on hospital committees and communicate pharmacy policies effectively across hospital staff.
  • Maintain systems for authorized prescriber signatures and proper requisitioning and dispensing of pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Perform all duties of a Staff Pharmacist, supporting clinical and operational pharmacy activities.

Qualifications:

  • Current state pharmacist licensure required.
  • Minimum of three years hospital pharmacy experience within the past five years.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently operate a pharmacy within a healthcare setting.
  • Preferred: At least one year in a managerial or leadership role.
