A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy at a critical access illness recovery hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional inpatient post-ICU care for critically ill patients in need of extended healing and recovery. This full-time role is located in York, PA, and plays an integral part in fostering a patient-centered culture focused on celebrating achievements, owning the future, creating change, and building trust.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital pharmacy.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and clinical teams to support facility goals.
- Ensure accurate preparation and dispensing of all medications and chemicals.
- Maintain compliance with standards from The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory agencies.
- Oversee and manage the Adverse Drug Reaction Program.
- Develop and participate in training and education programs for new pharmacy staff.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives related to drug utilization and effectiveness.
- Monitor patient drug therapy to promote optimal outcomes.
- Develop at least one new clinically oriented program annually (e.g., Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service, Patient Counseling, Pain Management, Nutritional Support).
- Promote continuous quality improvement and provide patient and family education and counseling.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of all educational requirements for state licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years hospital pharmacy experience within the last 5 years.
- Current state pharmacy license required.
- BLS certification if mandated by state.
- Preferred: PharmD or BS Pharmacy with advanced degree or hospital residency completion.
- At least 1 year in a managerial role preferred.
- Board Certification and/or Residency highly desirable.
