Director of Pharmacy | Hawesville, Kentucky

An interim leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy in a critical access hospital setting. The facility includes a 25-bed critical access hospital alongside an 18-bed skilled nursing facility, offering a dynamic and rewarding environment to apply pharmacy leadership skills.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

This 13-week contract position is available immediately, with potential for transition to a permanent role. The hospital operates with Cerner and MedDispense systems, requiring familiarity for efficient workflow management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and perform medication order verifications to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
• Manage pharmacy operations within the hospital and skilled nursing facility settings
• Provide guidance and training to pharmacy staff as needed
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards
• Participate in strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives related to pharmaceutical services

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Kentucky pharmacy license
• Experience in hospital pharmacy management or leadership roles
• Strong knowledge of critical access hospital pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records and MedDispense technology preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical setting
