Director of Pharmacy - Hayward, California

An opportunity is available for a full-time Director of Pharmacy to lead operations at a Specialty Home Infusion Pharmacy in the Hayward, CA area. This direct hire role requires a dynamic pharmacy professional to oversee pharmacy services, staff, and medical supply provisions, ensuring compliance with regulations and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Manage overall pharmacy operations and direct staff to complete professional assignments efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Oversee compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services prescribed by authorized medical personnel.
• Maintain adherence to licensing and regulatory requirements at all levels.
• Prepare prescriptions, solutions, and medications accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assess patient drug and disease information to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
• Develop and revise patient care plans as needed.
• Supervise Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Interns in medication preparation.
• Manage controlled substances including preparation, distribution, security, and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and other referral sources.
• Provide drug information support to sales teams and participate in sales support activities.
• Participate in pharmacist on-call schedules and provide coverage when needed.
• Conduct managerial duties such as hiring, training, performance management, conflict resolution, and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or R.Ph. with relevant clinical experience.
• Current and in good standing CA pharmacy license; additional licensure as required.
• Minimum 3-5 years pharmacy experience with preference for home infusion and compounding expertise.
• Strong knowledge of infusion pharmacy standards and practices.
• CPR certification and Care Tend proficiency are desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
