Director of Pharmacy - Hornick, Iowa

An urgent opening for a Director of Pharmacy is available at a critical access hospital in Onawa, IA. This temp-to-hire role offers the opportunity to lead pharmacy operations in a 25-bed facility focused on providing excellent patient care. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Setting: Critical Access Hospital, 25 beds

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily inpatient pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, order verification, inventory control, and compliance with regulations
• Supervise, train, and schedule pharmacy staff to ensure safe and efficient medication distribution hospital-wide
• Develop and update pharmacy policies and procedures
• Lead medication safety programs and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Iowa pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain one (required)
• Minimum of 3 years hospital inpatient pharmacy experience (required)
• Experience with Omnicell or Epic pharmacy systems (preferred)
• Knowledge in antibiotic stewardship programs (preferred)
• Familiarity with USP 797/800 standards (preferred)
