Lead pharmacy operations at a specialized behavioral health facility serving an average daily census of 40 patients. This contract role provides critical Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) coverage during a transition period, with an expected duration of 8+ weeks starting immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee order verification and ensure accuracy in medication distribution
  • Maintain and manage pharmacy inventory efficiently
  • Utilize order entry system (HCS) for medication processing (experience preferred)
  • Manage site automation technology (Omnicell), with familiarity preferred
  • Serve as the primary pharmacist in charge with leadership over pharmacy staff
  • Comply with facility’s behavioral health specialty requirements and protocols
  • Support pharmacy operations Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on-site
  • Provide remote coverage on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan pharmacist license in good standing is required
  • Prior experience in behavioral health pharmacy is advantageous
  • Experience with HCS order entry system strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working without pharmacy technician support
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to maintain smooth pharmacy operations

  • Location: Byron Center, MI
  • Facility dress code: purple scrubs
  • Nearest airport: Gerald Ford International Airport (GRR)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Saturdays 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (remote)
  • This is a contract position covering until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired
