Director of Pharmacy | Huntington, Texas

An interim leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Director of Pharmacy (PIC) to oversee acute inpatient pharmacy operations in a hospital setting. The position offers a contract assignment in Nacogdoches, TX, starting August 3rd for a duration of at least three months, with a Monday through Friday day shift schedule (40 hours per week). Weekend shifts and on-call duties are not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative oversight as the Director of Pharmacy, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality patient care.
• Manage pharmacy staffing and coordinate workflow effectively to meet organizational goals.
• Lead pharmacy educational initiatives, including coordinating inservices for pharmacy staff.
• Oversee daily operations utilizing Cerner/Siemens for order entry and Omnicell automation systems.
• Maintain professional business casual dress code in the workplace.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Must hold a valid Texas pharmacy license.
• Proven experience in acute inpatient pharmacy management.
• Strong leadership skills with prior Director of Pharmacy or PIC experience.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance in hospital pharmacy settings.
• Ability to manage a diverse pharmacy team including clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Work Environment:

• Acute care hospital pharmacy with a pharmacy staff comprising 1 clinical pharmacist, 5 full-time pharmacy technicians, 4 PRN pharmacists, and 3 PRN pharmacy technicians.
