Provide leadership and oversight for pharmacy operations in a behavioral health inpatient hospital setting. This contract role requires experience in inpatient behavioral pharmacy and a Missouri pharmacist license in good standing. The position will support the opening of the hospital pharmacy, including setup, medication ordering, and policy development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading pharmacy setup at the new hospital facility, coordinating with nursing staff for medication ordering and stocking
- Managing Omnicell automated dispensing systems and utilizing HCS or Cerner order entry systems (preferred)
- Developing and implementing pharmacy policies and procedures
- Providing on-call coverage during weekends and daily coverage Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
- Communicating progress and updates regularly via weekly calls and emails
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Missouri pharmacist license in good standing
- Proven inpatient behavioral pharmacy experience
- Familiarity with HCS or Cerner order entry systems and Omnicell automation preferred
- Ability to work independently in a new facility without pharmacy tech support
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving needs during hospital opening
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm, plus on-call duties
- Weekend on-call coverage only
This position requires availability to start between April 27th and no later than May 4th, covering pharmacy operations until a permanent pharmacist is hired.
