Pharmacy Director | Independence, Missouri

A leadership opportunity is available to oversee pharmacy operations at a new behavioral health facility in Independence, Missouri. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with inpatient and behavioral health experience, ready to manage the pharmacy setup and ensure smooth daily operations while the facility opens and establishes itself.

Location: Independence, Missouri
Job Type: Contract (starting April 27th – no later than May 4th, covering until permanent hire)
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, plus on-call duties
• Weekend coverage: on-call only

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the opening and setup of the pharmacy in a behavioral health hospital setting
• Collaborate with nursing staff on medication ordering and ensure proper stocking of automated dispensing machines
• Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures suitable for behavioral health services
• Manage daily pharmacy operations without on-site tech support
• Provide progress updates through weekly calls and emails with the hiring team

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist in Missouri in good standing
• Previous inpatient and behavioral health pharmacy experience is required
• Familiarity with order entry systems such as HCS or Cerner is preferred
• Experience working with Omnicell automation technology is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with flexibility to handle the demands of a new facility opening
