Drive pharmacy operations as Director of Pharmacy at a behavioral health facility in Indianapolis, IN, with a contract opportunity available from March 30 through June 30, 2026—or until a permanent placement is secured. This role demands strong inpatient pharmacy leadership within a fast-paced, specialized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage pharmacy staffing to ensure optimal coverage and performance
- Verify and dispense medications, including controlled substances, with accuracy and compliance
- Oversee the Pyxis automated dispensing system and order entry processes (HCS experience helpful but training provided)
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards including Joint Commission, CMS, and state pharmacy board requirements
- Provide on-call coverage as needed during evenings and weekends
- Collaborate with administrative teams and outgoing leadership for seamless transition and ongoing support
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Indiana pharmacist licensure in good standing is mandatory
- Proven inpatient pharmacy and leadership experience
- Comfortable navigating medication order systems and pharmacy automation
- Ability to work independently in an environment without pharmacy technician support
- Behavioral health pharmacy experience is highly preferred
- Local candidates favored; travel expense reimbursement available if relocating
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, plus on-call duties
- Weekend on-call coverage as required
