Lead the pharmacy operations and ensure regulatory compliance in a specialized behavioral health setting. This role combines Director of Pharmacy leadership with Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) responsibilities at a well-established behavioral health facility. You will be integral in supporting staff, overseeing medication management protocols, and enhancing patient care through effective pharmacy services.

Location: Summit, NJ
Type: Contract (6-8 weeks)
Schedule & Hours:

  • Monday – Friday, 8 AM–4 PM
  • On-call coverage required after each shift
  • Weekend on-call coverage only

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill PIC duties with minimum 35 hours per week on-site
  • Manage order verification and medication use processes using the HCS order entry system
  • Participate in departmental meetings and scheduling coordination
  • Assist in collecting data for Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee activities
  • Support and relieve current pharmacy staff, including one full-time pharmacy technician and several part-time/ per diem technicians and pharmacists
  • Collaborate with competent staff providing on-site training and guidance
  • Ensure compliance with state pharmacy regulations and facility policies

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active New Jersey pharmacist license required
  • Experience with HCS order entry system essential
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automation is beneficial
  • Previous Director of Pharmacy or PIC experience, preferably in behavioral health
  • Knowledge of policy development and quality assurance processes
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
