Director of Pharmacy | Jersey City, New Jersey

A healthcare facility specializing in behavioral health is seeking a Director of Pharmacy with Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) responsibilities for a contract assignment of 6-8 weeks. This role is based in Summit, NJ, and provides an excellent opportunity to lead pharmacy operations while supporting a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, fulfilling a minimum of 35 hours per week on site
• Oversee daily operations including order verification and medication order entry using HCS
• Provide on-call coverage after shifts during weekdays and on weekends
• Participate in pharmacy meetings and contribute to scheduling efforts
• Assist in collecting data for Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee activities
• Support and relieve existing pharmacy staff
• Engage with pharmacy technicians responsible for filling Omnicell systems and orders
• Maintain compliance with behavioral health pharmacy standards; no sterile compounding involved

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey Pharmacist license required
• Experience with HCS Order Entry System is essential
• Familiarity with pharmacy policies and procedures preferable
• Knowledge of Omnicell automation is a plus
• Background in behavioral health pharmacy settings beneficial

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM plus on-call coverage after shifts
• Weekend on-call coverage only
