Seeking an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health facility in Summit, NJ. This 6-8 week contract opportunity offers a critical leadership role overseeing pharmacy operations in a specialized behavioral health setting.
Location: Summit, New Jersey
Contract Duration: 6-8 weeks
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- On-call coverage after each weekday shift
- Weekend on-call coverage only
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfill PIC duties with a minimum of 35 hours per week on-site
- Participate in pharmacy and therapeutic (P&T) committee meetings and assist in data collection for P&T activities
- Oversee order verification and pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with policies and standards
- Provide leadership and relief support to current pharmacy staff
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians who manage Omnicell automation and filling responsibilities
- Maintain professional communication with staff and regulatory bodies; recent site visits by regulatory agencies reflect ongoing compliance
- Ensure a professional environment consistent with dress code (professional attire, closed-toe shoes)
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid New Jersey Pharmacist licensure required
- Experience with HCS order entry system mandatory
- Familiarity with Omnicell automation highly desirable
- Background in policy implementation and behavioral health pharmacy operations
- Proven leadership in a clinical pharmacy setting, including PIC responsibilities
