Lead the pharmacy operations of an acute care inpatient hospital in a key full-scope leadership role. The position requires managing clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial aspects of the pharmacy department. Reporting directly to hospital administration, you will work closely with clinical leadership teams to ensure high standards of patient care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring clinical excellence and regulatory compliance
- Manage and develop a diverse pharmacy team of approximately 20 full-time, part-time, and PRN staff members
- Collaborate with hospital administration and clinical leadership on strategic initiatives
- Maintain compliance with Joint Commission and CMS requirements
- Drive operational efficiencies and financial stewardship within the pharmacy
- Promote a culture focused on serving the health needs of the community, particularly underserved populations
Required Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing (non-negotiable, all licenses disclosed and verified)
- Minimum of three years as Director of Pharmacy in an acute care inpatient hospital setting
- At least three years of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- PharmD degree strongly preferred
- Board Certification and hospital pharmacy residency completion are significant advantages
- Proven experience managing a multi-level pharmacy team
- Background in community or safety net hospitals preferred
