An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Director of Pharmacy to serve in a critical access hospital setting with a 25-bed capacity and an average daily census of 10 beds. This contract role offers a 13-week duration with the potential for direct hire, working as both the Director of Pharmacy and a staff pharmacist in a hands-on capacity.
Location: Lakeview, OR
Type: Contract (13 weeks) with potential for direct hire
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No on-call duties
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the pharmacy operations in a critical access hospital environment
- Perform inpatient pharmacy duties as the working Director of Pharmacy
- Oversee and staff the pharmacy ensuring efficient daily operations
- Conduct sterile compounding as necessary
- Verify and check IV preparations compounded by pharmacy technicians
- Manage a pharmacy support team that includes 2 technicians on site daily
Systems and Environment:
- Order entry via Cerner system
- Automation supported by Omnicell technology
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Oregon pharmacy license
- Proven experience in inpatient pharmacy settings
- Demonstrated pharmacy management experience
- Proficiency in sterile compounding techniques
