This full-time Director of Pharmacy position is based in York, PA, and offers a direct hire opportunity within a critical access illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing exceptional inpatient post-ICU care for chronic, critically ill patients. This role requires a dedicated pharmacy leader to oversee the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial aspects of the hospital pharmacy while collaborating closely with the CEO and clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate preparation of drugs and chemicals.
- Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards.
- Oversee and administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program.
- Develop and implement new employee training and educational initiatives.
- Engage in quality assurance activities related to drug utilization and therapeutic effectiveness.
- Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring and counseling.
- Develop at least one clinically oriented pharmacy program annually, such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service, Patient Counseling, Pain Management Services, or Nutritional Support Service.
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient-centered care.
- Provide education and counseling for patients and their families.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of all education required for state pharmacy licensure.
- Minimum of three years’ hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years.
- Current state pharmacy license and BLS certification if required by state regulations.
- Preferred: PharmD or BS Pharmacy plus an advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency.
- Managerial experience of at least one year is preferred.
- Board Certification and/or Residency completion is a plus.
