An opening is available for a Pharmacy Director of Pharmacy (DOP) / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health hospital in Independence, Missouri. This role is pivotal in launching the inpatient behavioral pharmacy department, requiring an individual with strong leadership and operational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the pharmacy setup, including medication ordering in collaboration with nursing staff and stocking automated dispensing systems
- Establish and implement pharmacy policies and procedures aligned with regulatory standards
- Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance and quality in all processes
- Provide on-call coverage during weekends and support Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm schedule
- Communicate progress through weekly calls and updates via email
- Adapt to a dynamic environment to successfully open and stabilize pharmacy services
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Missouri pharmacist licensure in good standing is mandatory
- Proven experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy settings
- Familiarity with pharmacy order entry systems such as HCS or Cerner is preferred
- Experience with Omnicell automation systems is advantageous
- Ability to work independently without on-site technician support
Location:
- Independence, Missouri, with coverage starting as early as April 27th and no later than May 4th, continuing until a permanent hire is onboard
